[Don’t look down on your ability]

MIW member Cat has suffered from several chronic diseases since she was young. This means working long hours is almost impossible. When she feels healthy, she becomes a “casual worker expert” who works over 40 temporary jobs in the F&B industry . Unfortunately, her health conditions make her income inconsistent and unstable .

Cat stated: “My colleague think I am unable to handle my work because I look skinny, and my ability is doubted. However, I will keep learning to make my work perfect. Compliments from customers and my boss make me feel satisfied. Luckily, my religious friends, and of course MIW, support me a lot. I appreciate that MIW offers food supply, free Chinese medication consultant, and helps me to apply to the housing program from Government. It is difficult for me to pay back the kindness .” 

There are many similar cases like Cat: hard-working and determined people constrained by a low-income and lack of opportunity. Cat is an impressive, optimistic, and hard-working person and MIW continues to work to help them develop a better-resourced life.
