[Working under hot weather]
We have experienced one of the hottest summers in Hong Kong this year. Even when you are staying indoors, the heat can sometimes still get to you. Needless to say, it is very hard for those who have to work outdoors, say construction workers and cleaners. They always have to bring a few changes of clothes and masks. Some of them even faint during work under the extreme heat. MIW has seen their hard work first hand when they would come to pick up lunch boxes drenched in sweat. We always remind them to drink more water and be mindful of pushing their bodies too hard.
Even though the weather is unstable, things that never change are the care and blessings between our staff and the members. By giving them free lunch every week, we wish to help alleviate their financial burden, and at the same time perform our mission to give the vulnerable people a fair chance to get a job and a better living.
