[Mobilizing the female workforce – Visible Changes]

Ayin (who prefers to remain anonymous) and her husband together raise three children, one of which is going through puberty, and another with autism. As she recalls the bitterness and pressure of every experience throughout her journey as a full-time mother, Ayin is in low spirits and feel self-critical. Before her marriage she worked in the retail industry. Post-children, she became a stay-at-home mother. Because of the raising financial needs of the family, Ayin has to return back to the labour market.

She thankfully joined the Make It Work, thus allowing her to progressively recover from her period of hardship. The family-friendly employment support program allowed her to find a part time job in a Japanese restaurant, and also work as an escort for the service for out-patient, thus allowing her to financially uphold her household.

Looking forward to the prospect of securing a stable, fulfilling job and improving her standard of living, Ayin says, with a smile, that she would treat herself as a favorite gift to reward herself after all the hard work!
