[From Full-time Mom to Food Waste Specialist]

“Ah Kuen” was once a full-time housewife with a daughter of kindergarten age and a husband who was the primary breadwinner. She had always hoped to find a meaningful part-time position that would allow her to earn extra income while looking after her family and, concurrently, contribute to the community. 

Upon joining Make It Work, Ah Kuen engaged in different activities, such as job-hunting & interview grooming workshops, steadily enhancing her employability. Shortly thereafter, she obtained a part-time job at a food waste recycling company, where she assists in sorting and processing food waste every day. The flexible working hours enable her to balance her family life and earn extra income, while also contributing to environmental protection. This position is ideal for her. Her vibrant spirit motivates her family, particularly her little daughter. Ah Kuen’s experience shows that, as long as one is ready to make the first move, even a full-time mum can achieve harmony between family and career.
