[Firsthand experience visiting subdivided flat]

As Vice President of the French Chamber, Bruno has firsthand experience in visiting subdivided flats, one of the severe poverty issues Hong Kong has faced for a long time.

He visited a single mother, Kwai Lin, our Make It Work beneficiary, who lives with her two young daughters in Jordan. Bruno shared his impression after visiting them. “I learnt about the living conditions (in subdivided flats), and how basic needs and daily necessities can be a difficult thing in Hong Kong . I realized often times it is the mothers that are left alone to provide for their children with no material support from their ex-partners/ husbands. Yet, while living in such difficult conditions, I have still seen that people, like anyone else, still have dreams and aspirations for a better future.” Said Bruno.

In order to help these vulnerable groups, you can make an impact by collecting clothes, equipment, gadgets etc. for those who need it . This is also a way to support environmental protection. Last but not least, to be more sustainable and to offer job opportunities to the working poor to help them be self-reliant.
