The long summer has begun , but Make It Work’s volunteer team does not stop, and continues to contribute to the protection of the coast. We came to the most borderland in the northwest of the New Territories, Lung Kwu Tan. There are many heavy industrial infrastructures here, the air pollution problem is serious. The long and narrow beach is covered with plastic lids, plastic boxes, wrapping papers, quick test sticks and even textile raw materials. By the leading of ‘Ocean Plastic’ staff, we cleared more than 100kg of trash in just 2 hours. Even though the teammates were sweating, they insisted on continuing because there was so much garbage on the beach! During the process, members became interested in the recycling industry. In fact, there are many related vacancies in the market, such as recycling ambassadors and tour guides which are meaningful jobs.
