[Career Experimental – Barista Workshop]

Coffee brewing is a highly promising industry; popular cafes, restaurants and hotels alike are all in need of baristas. Seeing this, the Foundation most recently opened up a coffee making workshop, which a professional and experienced barista was invited to host, in the aim of boosting our beneficiaries’ skill level and enhancing their competitiveness in their quest of finding a job. In the classroom, was learnt how to use their five senses to understand the various features of coffee beans, and were shared different brewing methods, and demonstrated latte art techniques through improvisation.

After the class, not only did the end result of them learning coffee making techniques render this project successful, but also what they learned in the process; they were able to grasp virtues of patience and precaution — all these contribute to enlarging the beneficiaries’ horizons and ultimately allowing them to have more choices when they will be applying to jobs.
